Prayers for the 23rd Night of Ramadan
The Beloved Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) has said:
“Anyone, man or woman from my umma (community) who want to benefit from the light of my grave then he (or she) should perform worship with great intensity on each Laylat ul-Qadr (last 10 odd nights) , so that Allah The Most Exalted may wipe the person’s sins away and replace them with good deeds.â€
The worship on Laylat ul-Qadr is better and more powerful than worship of 70 (seventy) thousand nights.
The 2nd of Laylat ul-Qadr (23rd Night):
The prayer can be done in one of two ways:
- Read 4 cycles of prayer with 2 salams. In each cycle, after reading Surah Al-Fatiha,  read Surah Al-Qadr 1 time  and Surah Al-Ikhlas 3 times. Insha Allah, this prayer is very effective for having sins forgiven after death.
- Read 8 cycles of prayer with 4 salams. In each cycle, after reading Surah Al-Fatiha,  read Surah Al-Qadr 1 time  and Surah Al-Ikhlas 1 time.  After  the salam,  read Kalma  Tamjeed  (i.e.  say Subhaan-Allaahi wa al-hamdu Lillahi wa laa ilaaha illallaahu wa Allahu akbar wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billahill aliyyil adheem) 70 times  and then ask Allah  The Most Exalted  for  forgiveness  of  your  sins.  Insha Allah, Allah  Almighty will forgive all your sins.
Also, it is very effective and beneficial to recite Surah Yasin (Al-Quran, chapter 36) 1 time, and Surah Rahman (Al-Quran, chapter 55) 1 time on this night. .

Prayers for the 21st Night of Ramadan
The Beloved Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) has said:
“Anyone, man or woman from my umma (community) who want to benefit from the light of my grave then he (or she) should perform worship with great intensity on each Laylat ul-Qadr (last 10 odd nights) , so that Allah The Most Exalted may wipe the person’s sins away and replace them with good deeds.”
The worship on Laylat ul-Qadr is better and more powerful than worship of 70 (seventy) thousand nights.
The First of Laylat ul-Qadr (21st Night):
The prayer can be done in one of two ways:
- Perform 4 cycles of prayer with 2 salutations (salam). In each cycle, after reading Surah Al-Fatiha, read Surah al-Qadr (Al- Quran, chapter 97) 1 time and Surah Ikhlas (Al-Quran chapter 112) 1 time. After the salam, read Durood Shareef (salawwat on Nabi Kareem sallallahu alayhe wasallam) 70 times. In-sha Allah, by reading this prayer, the angels will pray on behalf of the person for forgiveness of sins after death.
- Perform 2 cycles of prayer. After reading Surah Al-Fatiha, read Surah Qadr 1 time and Surah Ikhlas 3 times. After the salam, read Asthaghfar (i.e. say astaghfirullah) 70 times. Insha Allah, with the support of this prayer and the fact that it is Laylat ul-Qadr, Allah The Most Exalted will provide forgiveness for the person after death.
Also, it is very effective and beneficial to recite Surah Qadr 21 times on this night.

The Destruction of Cities – From the Malfuzat of Khwaja Uthman Haruni (ra)
The following is an excerpt taken from Session 3 of the Anees ul-Arwah–The Malfuzat of Khwaja Uthman Haruni (rehmatullahi alyhe)–as recorded by Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (rehmatullahi alayhe):
In this session the discussion was about the destruction of cities and so he said that because of the excesses of people, in the last days cities will be destroyed. I heard from the Yusuf Chishti (may God have mercy on him) who heard it from Yahya Samarqandi from Ali (may God ennoble his face) that when the following verse was revealed:
ÙˆÙŽØ¥ÙÙ† مَّن قَرْيَة٠إÙلاَّ Ù†ÙŽØْن٠مÙهْلÙÙƒÙوهَا قَبْلَ يَوْم٠الْقÙيَامَة٠أَوْ Ù…ÙعَذّÙبÙوهَا عَذَابًا شَدÙيدًا كَانَ Ø°ÙŽÙ„ÙÙƒ ÙÙÙŠ الْكÙتَاب٠مَسْطÙورًا
There is not a population but We shall destroy it before the Day of Judgment or punish it with a dreadful Penalty: that is written in the (eternal) Record.
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that there will be excessive wrong doing in the last days. The city of Makkah will be made desolate by the hands of harsh people. The city of Medinah Munawwarah will be caught up in a famine; people will die there because of hunger. Basra and Mash-had will be destroyed because of drinking and the evil deeds of women. The ruler of Syria will be destroyed because of tyranny. Rome will become desolate because of widespread homosexuality. People will die as a result of a wind from the sky. Khurasan and Balkh will meet their end due to dishonest merchants by whose evil actions Muslims will be consumed.
The master Maudud Chishti (may God have mercy on him) said that Khawarizm and its surrounding cities will be destroyed because of its excesses in certain kinds of music and materialism and people there will murder each other. Suistan will be destroyed by calamity and earthquakes. Egyptian women will be killed because they will be labeled as adulteresses. Their actions will bring upon them the Wrath of God and these people would be consumed by the Earth and destroyed. India and Sind would be destroyed because of pervasive fornication and drunkenness of the people. I heard from the master Sharif Zindani (may God have mercy on him) that close to the Day of Judgment, years, months, weeks and days would become short in duration. Human beings will give birth to dogs instead of their own kind. People will be very far from the teachings from the Prophet (May peace and blessings be upon him). O Disciple! Humanity needs to prepare for the hereafter after considering that such times are very close at hand.
After this, the master engrossed himself in the remembrance of God. This humble slave also left the gathering and thanks to God for that (lesson).
